Radio communication equipment, along with devices that receive or convert broadcast signals, requires an import license from the Office of the NBTC before every shipment. The import license is valid for 180 days, separate from the license to use the device, which stays valid for the device's entire service life. Applicants also need an existing license to trade radio communication equipment plus supporting corporate documents.

Customs clearance is the process of filing documents through Thailand's e-Customs system so officers can review and approve a shipment before it's imported or exported. It covers submitting the import declaration, document and cargo inspection, duty and tax assessment and payment, and finally releasing the goods from customs custody. If your product needs a permit from another agency — such as the Thai FDA or TISI — that has to be matched in the system too.
